Feeling at peace with our eating habits and our bodies can feel rare in a world full of constantly changing messaging about what we should eat, how much, how often, etc. Working on your relationship with food, exercise, and your body can be transformational in building trust in your body's ability to tell you what it needs and your ability to listen. If you're tired of swinging from one end of the eating spectrum to the other, I can help!

I work with folks navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, body image struggles, PCOS, and IBS.
I'm here to walk alongside you as you build nourishing habits that feel sustainable for your life—whether you're healing from a challenging relationship with food or navigating health concerns without the weight obsession cycle. Here's what I've learned through my own journey and years of practice: nutrition behavior change isn't just about what's on your plate. It's about zooming out to notice the bigger patterns that influence your eating, getting practical about the day-to-day realities (meal planning, cooking, the mental load of it all), and tuning into your internal world—thoughts, emotions, and what your body is telling you.

I see clients via Telehealth in my virtual practice to help with various concerns such as eating disorders and disordered eating, stress management, pregnancy and postpartum nutrition, family nutrition (from introducing solids to picky eaters to growth and development), intuitive eating, health concerns (stress, cardiac issues, blood sugar management, etc.), or just a desire to improve overall health and well-being.
I take a holistic, non-weight-focused approach with my clients to help them avoid the pitfalls of fad diets, build a positive relationship with food and their bodies, and create their own healthy, sustainable, and (most importantly) enjoyable wellness practices.

I believe that full recovery from eating disorders is possible.
I take a non-diet, weight inclusive approach to nutrition counseling that is also trauma informed. I believe that a truly healthy relationship with food is one that is non-restrictive, that includes all foods, and that is based on internal hunger/fullness cues.

As a licensed registered dietitian with a background in nutrition therapy for eating disorders, and a passion for helping you heal your relationship with food and your body, I work alongside you to address your food and nutrition concerns, so that you can build confidence around food and cultivate trust in your body.
Is your relationship with food complicated? Is thinking about food, what you are going to eat next, or how it is going to impact your body or how you feel taking up too much head space? Have you had enough of restrictive diets, and want to learn how to eat to nourish your body? You may have gone on websites or social media, or heard from friends about the different diets they are doing, or learned that you need to cut out a certain food only for someone else to tell you the opposite. Navigating all of the different sources of information regarding food and your body can make it hard to know what is right for you. Doesn't need to be.

You are the expert on you, but don't know where to start. The expanse of the internet often provides confusing, unprofessional, and potentially harmful information about nutrition, weight, and health. I am not focused on "perfect" nutrition. Does it even exist? Let's look at the health and weight messages that influence you and find out what's relevant to YOU. Person versus population. We will have an honest conversation about what you need to focus on and how to make it happen. People expect a dietitian to judge them - but most people leave my office with hope, feeling like they are supported in making incremental change.

We live in a challenging time in regards to food, nutrition and body image. We are submerged in nutrition myths, quick fix diets and “perfect” bodies on social media. We feel immense pressure to change our bodies, and work tirelessly to eat and move in a way that will do just that, only to find ourselves defeated, exhausted, and back where we started. Over time, we forget that eating and movement should be pleasurable and nourishing.

Eating Disorders Nutritionists and Dietitians

What are the most common types of eating disorders?

The most common types of eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). Individuals may also be diagnosed with "other specified feeding or eating disorder" (OSFED), which is a type of eating disorder diagnosed when a client does not meet the full criteria for anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating disorder but still experiences significant distress related to eating.

What diet is best for eating disorder recovery?

Because eating disorders vary widely in symptoms and severity, there is no single best diet for recovery. While not all individuals with eating disorders are underweight and require weight gain during recovery, those who do may particularly benefit from consuming balanced meals on a more structured schedule. This approach helps establish a regular eating pattern and regulate hunger cues. In general, eating disorder dietitians recommend that clients focus on improving their overall relationship with food and eliminating certain "food rules," while also ensuring they consume an appropriate amount. For example, clients with anorexia nervosa often have significant fears surrounding the consumption of high-calorie foods; dietitians may encourage these clients to include such foods in their diet in a balanced manner to help facilitate recovery and achieve a more normalized state of eating. Conversely, clients with bulimia or binge eating disorder may benefit from a diet that avoids foods that are particularly triggering for them to binge on. Many clients with eating disorders benefit from seeing a dietitian who specializes in eating disorders in order to ensure that their diet meets their specific recovery-related needs.

How are eating disorders treated?

Eating disorder treatment often involves a multidisciplinary team of clinicians working together to address the various aspects of the condition. A physician typically monitors physical changes and health problems, a therapist addresses underlying thoughts and emotions, and a dietitian develops a plan to help the patient achieve and maintain a healthy weight. While most individuals can be treated in an outpatient setting, some may require more intensive care provided by residential or inpatient facilities. In addition, early intervention for disordered eating can significantly increase the likelihood of a successful recovery, and ongoing support and monitoring are also crucial to prevent relapse and sustain progress.

How do dietitians help people with eating disorders?

Nutrition counseling is a crucial component of eating disorder recovery, and dietitians play a vital role in this process. They help clients develop personalized meal plans to meet their nutritional goals, which is particularly beneficial for those who need to gain weight after periods of food restriction. Dietitians also encourage healthier eating patterns by helping clients incorporate foods they may have previously avoided due to eating disorder behaviors. Additionally, eating disorder dietitians often collaborate with other members of the client's care team, such as medical doctors, psychiatrists, and therapists, to provide comprehensive support. This multidisciplinary approach is especially important for clients with medical conditions related to their eating disorder, such as heart issues or electrolyte imbalances, which require close supervision by a medical doctor in coordination with a dietitian.
