About
I have been a Registered Dietitian for 17 years specializing in the treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating. I help people change their relationship with food and exercise while promoting positive body image. In addition to providing nutrition education on normal eating, I also address the thoughts and feelings around food. I promote a non-diet approach to health in which all foods can fit into the diet. The goal is for you to develop a positive and healthy relationship with food and your body.
Disordered eating and eating disorders involve many abnormal eating practices such as intentionally cutting back on food, counting calories, overeating, bingeing, emotional eating and use of diet pills. These behaviors result in anxiety, fear, guilt, and shame about eating certain types/amounts of food and an increased preoccupation with food.
If you relate to this type of relationship with food or know of someone who does, there is hope it can get better. Together we can make peace with food and your body.
