Nicknamed as "The Magic Hands" by my patients, I am a Christian acupuncturist who has been blessed by the LORD with healing talents. I was trained by both Chinese masters in Hong Kong and the United States. I am the only practitioner who combines acupuncture, stress management, meridians body work, floral tea, and oriental diet in each patient visit. Chinese physical medicine from my grandmother allows me to enjoy great success rates in treating pain. I discharged a patient with neck pain after only one visit, and another patient experiences no more back pain and restless legs after 3 treatments.

Almost any condition can be successfully treated with acupuncture because the goal is to correct the imbalances that are the underlying cause of the patient's symptoms. I find acupuncture is particularly beneficial for those with any type of pain: headaches, back pain, muscle, joint and nerve pain. It is also helpful for those with endocrine/hormonal issues, PMS, irregular periods, menopausal symptoms, digestive issues, abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea. Also: anxiety, insomnia; high blood pressure, stress management, chronic fatigue. People with colds, sore throats, asthma, sinus infections, urinary tract infections, and dermatitis can also find relief with acupuncture.

I focus on empowering patients to address all of their health concerns in the context of holistic wellness, using all of the traditional modalities of Asian medicine. My initial intake involves a comprehensive ninety-minute assessment and Chinese pulse diagnosis, during which we will discover the health initiatives which are most important to you, and prioritize them together according to your diagnosed imbalances. Using an integral approach involving acupuncture, wellness counseling, herbs, and often shiatsu bodywork therapy and Japanese moxibustion, we can successfully address all components of nearly any health challenge: body, mind and spirit.

In my practice I strive to awaken the physician within each patient. To that end I emphasize the importance of daily self-maintenance in a way that takes into account individual limitations and experiences. The focus of each treatment is on correcting imbalances that contribute to the symptoms that the patient is experiencing. The overall goal of continuing treatments is to help each individual recognize how daily experiences can have a negative and/or positive impact on the balance of their health. Awareness of potential imbalances is the first step toward improving the overall quality of life.

There is an alternative! I believe most people are capable of adding more years to their life, and more life to their years if only given the proper information, treatment, guidance, and attention. It is our multi-disciplinary approach and individualized protocols that help us get results that often no one else can. Genetics may set the stage, but lifestyle will often write the script for our health. The goal is to continually improvise our script to promote better health. Come in, and together we will create a high-quality, affordable, health care protocol, that will change your life.

My decision to study natural medicine sprang from my amazement at the human body’s adaptability and a desire to help it heal. Balancing nutrition, managing stress and identifying your specific exercise therapy are all essential building blocks for a foundation of health. It's through these therapies that we can manipulate the delicate mechanics of the body’s physiology. Autoimmune diseases, women’s health, mental health, and other chronic illnesses can all be greatly affected by each individual’s health needs and restrictions. Dr. Licciardo believes that optimal health and well being should be accessible to everyone and is dedicated to supporting all of her patients on that journey.

Offering treatments that combine Acupuncture, Reiki, Chinese medical massage, Eastern dietary therapy, Qi Gong/Yoga and a range of supporting techniques, I individualize each session to meet your specific needs. I work with an understanding of health care from both biomedical and Traditional Chinese Medicine perspectives. My treatments maintain a focus on self-care and patient education, to place healthcare in the hands of the individual and support patients in the pursuit of their own best health. Acupuncture in 06413 - is it right for me?
Acupuncture is based on the concepts of oriental medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. 06413 acupuncturists are health care professionals who evaluate and treat the many conditions, aches and pains that respond to acupuncture.

Acupuncturists insert very fine acupuncture needles into the body. The purpose of the needles is to stimulate acupuncture points or meridians. The needles do not inject any substance into your body and are so fine as to be virtually impossible to feel. In some cases, acupuncture may be accompanied by electrical stimulation or the burning of moxa, a form of heat therapy. Or use acupressure, where physical pressure is applied by hand or elbow to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.

'Accupuncture' and 'Accupuncturist' are common mis-spellings.
Credentials for 06413 licensed acupuncturists?
A licensed acupuncturist in 06413 needs a minimum of two years college education and must complete three years of professional training and pass the State's approved licensing examination. The three year program includes both theory and hands-on clinical practice. Most States' professional training programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
