I’m Christina, a registered dietitian/nutritionist living in MetroWest Massachusetts. I am passionate about using evidenced-based nutrition to help people achieve their best and healthiest lives through better relationships with food. As a working mom, I know how challenging it can be to find time to make changes to improve your life. And from over a decade of working one-on-one with those undergoing and who have completed cancer treatment, I have seen first-hand how misinformation and shame surrounding food and nutrition can sabotage even those with the best intentions.

Your doctor told you your numbers are high. Maybe you've already tried changing your diet. Maybe you don't know where to start. Either way, that's exactly who I work with. Most people know something about eating "healthy," but are still missing the specific dietary patterns that drive high cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar. A general healthy diet isn't the same as a targeted one. Small, precise changes, and sometimes counterintuitive ones, move numbers more than overly restrictive approaches.

Do you feel confused, frustrated, or stuck when it comes to food—whether that looks like years of disordered eating, managing a medical condition, or knowing what to do but struggling to follow through? Are you tired of conflicting nutrition advice, rigid rules, or feeling disconnected from your body? Do you want support that’s both evidence-based and compassionate? If any of this resonates, you’re not alone—and you’re in the right place.

Growing up Asian means food is never just food. It's tradition, celebration, and connection. Managing diabetes shouldn't mean losing that. My clients come to me overwhelmed, confused by conflicting advice, and unsure how to adapt the foods they love. Many have tried generic approaches that don't account for their cultural background, family dynamics, or the role food plays in their relationships. I help them build sustainable strategies that honor their heritage while effectively managing blood sugar.

I am passionate about nutrition and believe that food should be enjoyed! I am excited about the opportunity to help you achieve your personal health goals using a holistic approach that not only looks at nutrition, but strengthens all the pillars of health, including sleep, movement, and stress. As a busy mom of young children, I understand the challenges of staying on a healthy path. Personal experience with a hectic lifestyle, stress, and insomnia opened my eyes to the importance of uncovering root causes in order to begin the process of re-balancing life.

Feeling at peace with our eating habits and our bodies can feel rare in a world full of constantly changing messaging about what we should eat, how much, how often, etc. Working on your relationship with food, exercise, and your body can be transformational in building trust in your body's ability to tell you what it needs and your ability to listen. If you're tired of swinging from one end of the eating spectrum to the other, I can help!

There's an overwhelming amount of messages out there that tell us what or how we "should" eat. These messages tell us to abide by prescriptive “diets” or practices, and can keep us from trusting or connecting with ourselves. If you’re ready to break free from diet culture, and hope to restore your relationship with food, body and/or movement, but are wondering where to start, I’m here to help! I work with a variety of age groups, from adolescents to older adults. I work with those who are recovering from diet culture, disordered eating and eating disorders.

Nutrition Counseling Nutritionists and Dietitians
What is nutrition counseling?
Nutrition counseling refers to the services provided by a Registered Dietitian (RD) that focus on diet and nutrition. Individuals often seek nutrition counseling to make diet-related lifestyle changes, especially after being diagnosed with chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease. However, nutrition counseling is not limited to these cases, and it can often benefit anyone looking to improve their overall health. Nutrition counselors also often address other aspects of a healthy lifestyle within sessions, such as advising on physical activity, chronic disease management, and mental health. They provide guidance and motivation, often adopting a holistic approach to support clients in achieving their health and wellbeing goals.

Who should see a nutrition counselor?
Many people can benefit from seeing a nutrition counselor; however, individuals with (or at risk of developing) chronic medical conditions or who have specific dietary challenges (for example, IBS, Crohn's disease, etc.) may find a nutrition counselor particularly helpful. Nutrition counselors are specifically trained to use diet modifications to manage health, so consulting a dietitian if you have a chronic condition can be greatly beneficial. Nutrition professionals can help clients understand how their diet impacts their symptoms and suggest strategies to improve overall health. Additionally, dietitians can coordinate with other medical professionals, such as primary care physicians or specialty physicians, to help support the client's overall health.

What happens during a nutrition counseling session?
Nutrition counseling is fundamentally focused on a client's individual health goals. The initial session with a nutrition professional typically involves an evaluation, during which the dietitian seeks to understand the client's reasons for seeking nutrition counseling. This session typically includes discussing the client's health history, current eating habits, lifestyle, and specific nutrition counseling goals. In follow-up sessions, the client and dietitian will typically review progress toward these goals, and the dietitian may examine the client's food intake and suggest areas for improvement. They may also educate the client on diet-related topics, such as ensuring adequate consumption of fruits and vegetables or reducing sodium intake. Additionally, nutrition counselors can help clients stay accountable for other lifestyle changes that support overall health, such as regular exercise, smoking cessation, or moderating alcohol consumption.

What should I look for in a nutrition counselor?
Clients seek nutritional support from dietitians and nutritionists for various reasons, ranging from managing medical conditions to addressing lifestyle concerns like weight loss or specific dietary requirements. When looking for a nutrition counselor, it is essential to find someone with expertise in the area of nutrition relevant to your needs. Consider factors such as insurance coverage, specific medical or dietary concerns, and the availability of professionals in your area to determine the best fit. Generally, nutritionists are not covered by insurance, whereas Registered Dietitians (RDs) often are, making it important to look for a professional with RD credentials. If you have a chronic medical condition like cancer or kidney disease, you may be interested in seeking out an RD with specialized expertise, such as a Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO) or a Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR), as these credentials indicate advanced education and a commitment to ongoing learning within a specific area.
