I've been practicing since 1994 and have had the honor of meeting with and learning from hundreds of clients. What I've learned is that most of us don't need a lot of "education" about what a healthy lifestyle is. What we benefit most from is help putting together a plan and the supports to follow through long term. This is my passion. Taking care of yourself changes over time.

I'm here to walk alongside you as you build nourishing habits that feel sustainable for your life—whether you're healing from a challenging relationship with food or navigating health concerns without the weight obsession cycle. Here's what I've learned through my own journey and years of practice: nutrition behavior change isn't just about what's on your plate. It's about zooming out to notice the bigger patterns that influence your eating, getting practical about the day-to-day realities (meal planning, cooking, the mental load of it all), and tuning into your internal world—thoughts, emotions, and what your body is telling you.

“ I have tried everything and nothing seems to work.” I hear this often from women who are frustrated with stubborn weight gain, fatigue, insomnia, mood swings, food cravings, or chronic digestive problems. These challenges can make every day feel like an uphill battle. I want to tell you that it doesn’t have to be this way. You are not broken. Your body is not failing you. Your body is an intelligent organism designed with an inherent ability to heal and self-regulate. You need to get to the bottom of the problem and do the work that will bring your body back to balance.

If you have diabetes, an eating disorders, celiac disease, stomach or intestinal distress, I can help.
You are the expert on you, but don't know where to start. The expanse of the internet often provides confusing, unprofessional, and potentially harmful information about nutrition, weight, and health. I am not focused on "perfect" nutrition. Does it even exist? Let's look at the health and weight messages that influence you and find out what's relevant to YOU. Person versus population. We will have an honest conversation about what you need to focus on and how to make it happen. People expect a dietitian to judge them - but most people leave my office with hope, feeling like they are supported in making incremental change.

Being diagnosed with celiac disease at 3, the gluten free diet has always been a way of life for me.
My primary goal: help you love food. I grew up in a household where food was fun, varied, and adventurous. My Mother was a home economics teacher turned preschool teacher. She taught me how to prepare food in fun ways and to be an adventurous eating. We learned to love food because it was good for our bodies AND because it tasted delicious!

What if the problem isn’t your willpower - but the way diet culture has taught you to disconnect from your body? Maybe you’ve spent years measuring worth in calories, steps, or the number on the scale. You follow the rules, until you can’t - then feel like you’ve failed. The cycle is exhausting: restrict, obsess, lose control, repeat. You’re not broken- you’ve just spent so long trying to control your body that you’ve missed the wisdom it’s been offering all along. You want to eat without guilt, live without fear, and finally feel free in your own skin.

Celiac Disease Nutritionists and Dietitians
What is celiac disease?
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder in which the consumption of gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, triggers a significant immune response within the body. This response damages the small intestine, specifically targeting the villi—small projections within the gut that are crucial for nutrient absorption. The destruction of these villi leads to malabsorption of essential nutrients, resulting in symptoms such as malnutrition, osteopenia, gastrointestinal distress, and deficiencies in vitamins and minerals. Fortunately, most individuals with celiac disease can manage their symptoms effectively by following a gluten-free diet, which often includes alternatives like rice-based products.

What foods are not allowed if you have celiac disease?
Since gluten is present in foods containing wheat, barley, or rye, consuming products with these ingredients can trigger celiac disease symptoms. Common sources of gluten include bread, pasta, baked goods, crackers, and cereal products. However, gluten can also be found in unexpected places, such as certain milk-based products, salad dressings, processed meats, and energy/nutrition bars. To avoid accidental gluten consumption, individuals with celiac disease should check ingredient labels and be aware of ingredients derived from gluten-containing grains, such as malt from barley.

What diet is best for people with celiac disease?
A gluten-free diet is the most effective way to manage the symptoms of celiac disease. The increasing availability of "gluten-free" products, along with the abundance of naturally gluten-free grains such as rice, potatoes, oats, quinoa, and corn, has made it easier to maintain a gluten-free lifestyle. Other than reducing or eliminating the consumption of gluten, however, there is no single diet that is best for individuals with celiac disease. Even without gluten, individuals can consume a balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and high-quality sources of protein. Indeed, consuming foods rich in vitamins and minerals is particularly important for those with celiac disease, as they often experience nutrient deficiencies due to malabsorption issues prior to diagnosis.

How can a dietitian help with celiac disease?
Dietitians can help with celiac disease by providing guidance on how to maintain a healthy gluten-free lifestyle. They can provide tips on how to avoid gluten-containing foods, including foods that may be at high-risk of gluten contamination. They can also offer substitution recommendations that ensure clients still consume enough healthy grains within their diet, and they can help clients navigate other resources that may be helpful in the management of their disease. In some cases, a dietitian may assist in identifying a gluten sensitivity; although registered dietitians (RDs) can't officially diagnose celiac disease, they may be particularly familiar with celiac disease symptoms and be able to help clients connect to a medical professional for further testing and treatment if they suspect a client may have the condition.
