As a California-licensed primary care naturopathic doctor, my primary goal is to partner with you to prevent illness, but if a "dis-ease" is present, to utilize the most natural, non-toxic, and least invasive therapies first. I was born and raised in Auburn, California and am a 1996 graduate of Bastyr University, the leading naturopathic medical school in North America. Growing up with my dad as a local doctor inspired me to pursue medicine myself. Personal illness with questions left unanswered by western medicine led me in the direction of naturopathic medicine. I am passionate about helping people find their optimal health. I fill up my free time with my husband and 2 beautiful daughters. Together we enjoy rock-climbing, horse back riding, surfing, gardening and just being together.

What is the hCG diet?
The HCG diet is an extreme regimen developed in the 1950s for rapid weight loss. It combines a strict caloric restriction of 500 calories per day with daily injections of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This hormone, naturally associated with pregnancy, is produced by the body in high amounts during the first trimester to stimulate other hormones that support fetal growth. Advocates of the HCG diet believe that hCG may boost metabolism and promote weight loss. However, more recent research indicates that any weight loss from this diet is likely due to the severe calorie restriction rather than the effects of hCG. The FDA does not recognize hCG as a weight-loss treatment and has warned consumers about potential risks of using the unregulated hormone, as well as the dangers associated with the extreme caloric restriction the diet imposes.
