Alex Leyberman graduated from the Oriental Medicine Program of Touro College. Touro is a comprehensive 5 year clinical master's program that stands as the only fully-accredited Graduate Oriental Medicine Program in the state of New York. In 1995, he received the Sino-Japanese Sasakawa Medical Scholarship to study rehabilitation medicine in Japan. Later, he earned an MD and Ph.D. in Neurology and Neuroscience from Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 2022.
