In 1992 I suffered from dizziness, tiredness, and nausea which forced me to take months off from work. After unsuccessful western medical treatment I decided to try acupuncture. Acupuncture reminded me of a healther way of being. Using acupuncture to enhance my immune system and balance my energy I began to feel better and to make lifestyle changes that supported my wellness. As I result I decided to become an acupuncturist.

The focus of Marcie's practice is to see each person as a whole and together develop a more natural pathway to health. We review each person’s history and lifestyle then create a plan to correct the underlying imbalances. Whether the person has numerous physical challenges and seeks to become healthier, or they are relatively healthy and simply want to reduce stress and stay in balance, we are here to help. Many seek an alternative to drugs to relieve headaches, neck, back, knee or shoulder pain. Women seek natural support for fertility, menopause or PMS. Those with allergies get relief from and even resolve indoor/outdoor allergies

Twenty years ago, a diabetic patient with gangrene infection on his foot, came to my office. His doctor had scheduled amputation for him. He asked me to save his leg. My key stragery for his treatment was to lower his blood sugar. With acupuncture and magnet therapy I was able to make his blood sugar drop from 240mg/dL to 120 mg/dL. The blood flow in his leg increase 30%, the gangrene disappeared, new tissue grew, and his leg was saved! The treatment can also prevent diabetics from too much laser surgery. This therapy can also help lose weight.

I also worked in Chinese Medicine practices in Edmonton and Montreal, Canada and in Maryland. In 1997, I established my current practice. I approach patients' conditions with a comprehensive understanding of both Western and Chinese Medicine, which enables me to provide the most suitable treatment and recommendations, whether the ailment is a 5-week-old girl's colic, a 9-month-old boy's prolonged cough or a 40-year-old woman's recurrent bladder infections.

Clients have more freedom in their lives to be more active, vital and/or well. Many appreciate the drug-free relief for various concerns, including pain, fatigue, allergies, digestive distress, fertility, sleep disorders, emotional distress, and many other symptoms. In addition to symptom relief, there are more subtle ways patients improve. "I feel lighter," "I am less irritable," "I am less rushed," and "I feel more compassionate" are some recent comments. Joy, contentedness, awe, stillness and clear thinking are all potential outcomes in addition to clients' initial concerns.

Acupuncture in 21093 - is it right for me?
Acupuncture is based on the concepts of oriental medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. 21093 acupuncturists are health care professionals who evaluate and treat the many conditions, aches and pains that respond to acupuncture.

Acupuncturists insert very fine acupuncture needles into the body. The purpose of the needles is to stimulate acupuncture points or meridians. The needles do not inject any substance into your body and are so fine as to be virtually impossible to feel. In some cases, acupuncture may be accompanied by electrical stimulation or the burning of moxa, a form of heat therapy. Or use acupressure, where physical pressure is applied by hand or elbow to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.

'Accupuncture' and 'Accupuncturist' are common mis-spellings.
Credentials for 21093 licensed acupuncturists?
A licensed acupuncturist in 21093 needs a minimum of two years college education and must complete three years of professional training and pass the State's approved licensing examination. The three year program includes both theory and hands-on clinical practice. Most States' professional training programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
