At Potomac Nutrition, I work collaboratively with patients in a virtual or in-person setting to reach their nutrition and health goals. As a dietitian with a non-diet approach, my nutrition philosophy is rooted in intuitive eating, honoring our bodies, and experiencing joyful movement. I help women who are already carrying the world on their shoulders prioritize their health once again without restriction, deprivation, or shame. By focusing on our relationship with food, in addition to overall nutrition, we quite literally bring joy back to the table.

At Bodacious Nutrition (Nutrition for Women), Joanna specializes in supporting women who struggle with food and body anxiety, unwanted symptoms of PCOS or perimenopause/menopause, disordered eating/eating disorders, and unwanted weight gain, blood sugar issues, low energy, or a sense of disrupted embodiment where body trust is difficult. She is an expert in women's and metabolic health as well as primarily plant-based eating. I graduated with a BS in Dietetics from Kansas State University and a MS in Dietetics from the University of Rhode Island. I am a Registered Dietitian in Northern Virginia, licensed in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. I am also a Certified Clinical Transplant Dietitian and has spent the last 10 years specializing in Renal Nutrition at MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute in Washington, D.C. As an advanced practitioner in the nutrition care of kidney transplant candidates and recipients, my focus has been educating and preparing patients meet the nutritional requirements for transplant. My experience is from a variety of settings, including dialysis centers, community nutrition, clinical and organ transplant.
