Hormone Balancing Naturopaths
What is hormone balancing?
Hormone balancing is a general term used by many naturopathic practitioners to describe the process of regulating the body's natural signaling molecules, called hormones. Often those with conditions thought to be related to hormonal imbalance, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), acne, or general fatigue, seek out hormone balancing treatment as a way to address the root cause of their illness. Hormone balancing is frequently accomplished through the use of specific dietary and activity regimes, such as through the reduction of highly processed foods, an increase in levels of physical activity, and the maintenance of a healthy sleep schedule. However, although less common within the naturopathic community, hormone balancing may also involve medication interventions, such as hormonal birth control or hormone replacement therapy.
