Rooted in the principle of holism, acupuncture places great emphasis on treating the whole person and views the body, mind, spirit and context as an integrated unit. Context includes environmental factors such as culture, community, family, social networks and history. The goal of treatment is to establish “balance” within the individual and in relationship to their environment. My practice treats a variety of conditions including acute and chronic pain, metabolic dysfunction, gastrointestinal distress, fertility support, respiratory disease, fatigue, mental clarity as well as anxiety and depression.
Trained in the classical Five Element Tradition and National Board Certified by the NCCAOM, I continue to study the Pulse Diagnosis (CCPD), Saam Acupuncture and Abdominal Palpitation. Based on your goals, patterns and diagnosis, herbal formulas, gua sha and moxibustion can be included in your health plan. Most people find the experience very enjoyable.
My practice is located at the Maine Integrative Wellness Center. Our collaborative services include a variety of very skilled healthcare professionals. In addition to acupuncture and Chinese herbs, we have chiropractic physicians, nurse practitioners, naturopathic medicine, reiki, meditation and massage therapy to help you attain your optimal health.
