Dr. Guo is an osteopathic acupuncturist (PA). She received her MD degree from Heilongjiang University of TCM in 1982 and completed her Master degree in acupuncture at Shanghai University of TCM in 1988. From 08/1988-09/1993, Dr. Guo worked at Shanghai Longhua Hospital of Shanghai University of TCM as an attending physician. She worked for fourteen years in Xi-Yuan Hospital of the Chinese Academy of TCM, which is the most prestigious TCM research institute/hospital in China. She also had the privilege to be trained by the traditional method of "Learning from Top TMC Experts Program" from 1997 to 2000, which was sponsored by the China Ministry of Health.
