I hold a Doctor Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine , Masters Degree in Acupuncture/ Chinese Medicine and a Bachelor of Health Science. I am a Diplomat of Acupuncture which is a Certified Diplomat by NCCAOM ( National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine ). Additionally, I am a NYS Licensed Acupuncturist and NCCAOM board certified acupuncturist as well as a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist. He gained valuable experience at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, where he interned in the Labor & Delivery, Oncology, and Rehabilitation departments. At Lincoln Hospital, Alex worked exclusively at the Recovery Center with drug addicts fighting addiction and became NADA trained in the use of acupuncture in substance abuse.

In 1995, he received the Sino-Japanese Sasakawa Medical Scholarship to study rehabilitation medicine in Japan. Dr. Zhao also served as a Research Fellow in Herbology and Acupuncture at Harvard Medical School for 4 years.
