Dr. McDonald graduated from Five Branches University with his Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) degree. His combined education in Oriental and Naturopathic medicine total over 12 years. His OM education also consisted of a Masters degree from East West College of Natural Medicine and a one-year postgraduate internship with Dr. David Cohen, DO, FAAMA. Prior to his Oriental medical education, Mel earned two doctoral degrees (ND-distance learning and NMD-residential). His naturopathic education was combined with a three-year externship at NEWS, with over 3,000 clinical hours alone and an additional 2,000+ hours didactic.

She is a former professor in Oriental Medicine at the School of Georgia and a board member of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Georgia. Dr. Du has practiced acupuncture, and Chinese Herbal Medicine. TuiNa (combination of acupressure and medical massage)for 22years.
