I take a multi-pronged approach toward supporting a shift in your relationship with food. Behavior change approaches are inspired by my own experience of yogic practices that inform sustainable behavior change. I incorporate practical, concrete nutrition related goals into each session, inclusive of challenge food experiences, exploring hunger and fullness cues, and maximizing ability to complete your meal plan with appropriate variety. I also incorporate exploration of the relationships between feelings and eating disorder behaviors, and how even a small shift in response to such emotions can improve how you relate to food.

Binge eating and emotional eating are conditions that are widely misunderstood. All too often we are led to believe that we lack will power and motivation to stop eating or to lose weight. Feelings of guilt, shame, and even loneliness can keep us in a perpetual cycle of dieting and deprivation. You are not alone in your struggle. Using a non-diet approach, I provide education to clear up confusion around nutrition facts and challenge dieting myths.

I take a functional and root-cause approach to bring your health back into balance. This holistic approach includes looking at all aspects of you and your lifestyle, including health history, current state of health, diet, sleep patterns, response to stress, work, family , and recreational aspects of your lifestyle. In addition my approach is to get to the underlying cause of the symptoms or conditions rather than just treat the symptoms.

I have over 20 years experience as a Registered Dietitian with a master's degree in Public Health Nutrition (MPH). I also have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology and am a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). I focus on the whole person and want to help you achieve a healthy lifestyle with an evaluation of current exercise and eating habits; assessment of labs, medications, and supplements; discussion of medical conditions; and goal setting for your particular concerns.
