We eat at least 3-4 times a day or 21-28 times a week. Eating is an activity we have been engaging in since we were born. We used to know when we were hungry and when we were full. When this energy giving and life sustaining act becomes a source of confusion, guilt and fear, when eating becomes disordered and turns into a dangerous coping mechanism, it is time to evaluate what we are doing and explore how we can normalize our behavior so our minds and body can function in a healthy way to support our goals.
I start my work by establishing where my clients are physically, psychologically and emotionally and identify what they are ready to change to improve their health. I guide them in a non-judgmental and non-dieting approach to a peaceful relationship with food. We all deserve to eat without fear.
I received my academic, clinical and specialty training at University of California at Berkeley. In addition, to individual counseling I provide therapeutic meal groups, restaurant outings and grocery tours to support the work of my clients.
