Understanding a kidney diet can feel overwhelming. The internet is full of conflicting information which leads to more confusion than solutions. And when it comes down to it, healthy nutrition for chronic kidney disease is not a 'one-fits-all' diet. Maybe your kidney doctor has provided some diet suggestions but you are still not quite sure where to start.

I am passionate about clinical dietetics and truly understand how impactful nutrition interventions can be on improving patient & client outcomes. My approach is different from person to person and believe that the time needed to help someone should not be pre determined. This is what attracted me to working as a consult dietitian with Nutrition Collaborative. A setting where I, and more importantly the client, dictate the process.

In a 1995 Nutrition in Medical Science Class, I discovered that statistically, African Americans suffered disproportionately from many chronic diseases. I made it my goal in this life to discover a solution to alter the trajectory of the problem. I now help African-Americans develop a proper relationship with the food they eat by incorporating culture into the recipe of active living, glorious nutrition and wellness!

Rather than looking for a quick fix, I help my clients discover ways to reach their health and body composition goals that are enjoyable, realistic, and backed by science.

Clem&Thyme Nutrition is a functional nutrition private practice. Leslie Edmunds, the owner, moved her practice to the Yellow Springs farmhouse location in 2017. She remodeled the farmhouse to include offices and a teaching kitchen. They also have a garden so their clients can take home produce from their appointments. Since moving to Yellow Springs, they have grown and now employ nine dietitians (Leslie, Jenna, Lei, Emma, Samantha, Jackie, Jaclyn and Natalia). In 2021, Clem&Thyme expanded and now has two additional offices located in Westerville and Dublin, Ohio.

Sometimes it can feel like you’re fluctuating between “good” days and “bad” days: one minute you’re organized and proud of your food choices, the next it seems everything’s falling apart. Worse, everyone has an opinion on what you should eat without knowing what’s going on in your life. You’re not alone! My mission is to provide judgment-free nutrition counseling and support, whether you want to manage a chronic disease or just have more energy.
