I am interested in the preventive side of healthcare, and truly believe food can be medicine. I view my health as one of the most important things in my life, and I want to encourage my clients to see the value in their health and accomplish their wellness goals. I personally follow a pescetarian, but mostly plant-based diet, and am a huge proponent of any type of movement. I would love to share my knowledge of food and passion for wellness with you, and help you reach your goals.

My ideal client is someone who’s ready for real change but feels stuck. Maybe they’ve tried diets, medications, or programs before, but nothing has worked long-term. They may be struggling with weight, newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, or managing chronic issues like high cholesterol or high blood pressure. Many are overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition advice and just want to know what to eat — and how to stick with it. What they really need is a plan that makes sense for their life — not a generic handout or fad diet. They want support from someone who listens, simplifies the process, and keeps them accountable.

As a Credentialed Registered Dietitian, I work with clients to develop plans that are gimmick-free and easy to follow. Fad diets don't work and ultimately lead to disappointment. I take a balanced and realistic approach to help you live a healthier life. In our first session, I develop a comprehensive and customized meal plan that addresses your specific health needs, lifestyle and nutrition concerns without deprivation. Follow up sessions support your goals, and in between office visits, I am available via phone, email or text to answer questions and offer encouragement.

If food feels difficult, confusing and/or causes you worry, let’s talk about it. I’m here to help make it a bit easier. I use a nonjudgmental, weight-neutral and gender inclusive approach, to help all people realize that food can and does mean so much more than just the nutrients on the plate, and empower them that having a normalized relationship with food is possible. I believe in utilizing an all foods fit mentality to neutralize from the notion of “good” or “bad” foods. I specialize in working with adults, but can provide referrals to other providers who work with children or adolescents, upon request.

A PCOS diagnosis can be scary and confusing. You've been handed a medication without any education on the connection between nutrition & PCOS. You're told to "just lose weight" to improve your symptoms, yet you've tried every diet in the book. You're lost on what is actually happening in your body. And, you are craving guidance!

Vegetarian Nutritionists and Dietitians

What is a vegetarian diet?

A vegetarian diet is one that does not involve the consumption of meat and seafood. As a result, most vegetarians get their dietary protein from a variety of plant-based sources, such as nuts, tofu, beans, seeds, and whole grains. Vegetarians may also consume non-meat animal protein sources, such as eggs, cheese, and milk. Some individuals follow a vegetarian diet for health-related reasons, while others will follow it for ethical or environmental reasons.

Is a vegetarian diet healthier than a standard diet?

Because many animal meats are high in calories and saturated fats, they can contribute to health concerns like high cholesterol and hypertension. This makes a vegetarian diet an appealing alternative, especially for those with chronic health conditions such as heart disease or obesity. A vegetarian diet, which focuses on plant-based foods, often leads to lower calorie consumption overall. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals who are overweight or at risk of becoming so. Additionally, a well-planned vegetarian diet can provide all the necessary nutrients, supporting overall health while helping manage weight and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

How do vegetarians get enough protein?

Vegetarians can easily consume enough protein with proper planning. Common vegetarian sources of protein include tofu, tempeh, nuts, beans, seeds, lentils, dairy products, eggs, and whole grains. People new to a vegetarian diet might find it helpful to track their protein intake initially to ensure they're getting enough. However, many vegetarians soon develop a routine where they regularly consume sufficient protein without needing to track it closely, given the current wide variety of plant-based protein options. Consulting a dietitian can also be beneficial, especially if meeting protein goals seems challenging with only plant-based sources.

When is it useful to go vegetarian?

Many people can benefit from a vegetarian diet, especially those looking to lower their risk of heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers. The health benefits of reducing or eliminating meat and increasing plant-based foods are well-documented, including improved cholesterol levels, better blood sugar control, and reduced inflammation. Nutrition professionals often stress that even cutting down on meat, without completely eliminating it, can still lead to significant health improvements. This makes a vegetarian or partially vegetarian diet an attractive option for those wanting to improve their overall health and reduce their risk of chronic conditions. Additionally, well-balanced plant-based diets are typically rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, which also support overall well-being and can additionally aid in weight loss or management.
