In my practice I specialize in helping people with blood sugar issues (pre-diabetes, diabetes) and those with high cholesterol, high triglycerides, high blood pressure, fatty liver disease, chronic kidney disease, and celiac disease, learn to eat differently to improve these medical conditions. I also work with people who desire to lose weight. I do not believe in rushing through appointments, trying to see several people in one day. Instead, I focus on completing a thorough assessment to help guide me in developing your meal plan. I also allow adequate time at follow up sessions to help ensure your success.
I have been a registered dietitian for 26 years and a certified diabetes educator for 22 years. I have a strong family history of heart disease and diabetes and 4 years ago I was diagnosed as gluten intolerant. My other professional interests include the areas of weight management, fatty liver disease, and chronic kidney disease. Food is medicine.
Four years ago my own health started to deteriorate. Debilitating fatigue and brain fog as well as body aches and pains were my main symptoms. I have been on quite a journey since then to get to the bottom of all that had managed to go wrong in my body, despite eating a "healthy diet". I can assist you in feeling better as well.
