I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) registered and licensed dietitian/nutritionist. I am currently running a private practice providing outpatient care to eating disorder patients, obese and overweight children and adults, and teaching healthy eating patterns for kids and their families. In addition, I assess patients undergoing bariatric surgery such as gastric band, gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy and provide nutrition education before and after the procedure
After working at The Renfrew Center I developed a passion for counseling patients to eat healthy and feel comfortable with food and their bodies. I use my past experiences to help bariatric surgery patients with their emotional eating habits and to assist them in achieving healthy weight loss.
My approach is to take into consideration the following before recommending a meal plan: 1. people's past experience with food; 2. the emotional aspect of eating; 3. the fears of eating too much or too little; 3. people's proximity to food and; 4.body image concerns and people's schedule
