About
We specialize in medical nutrition therapy which treats or prevents chronic conditions through diet modifications usually involving weight loss. I'd like to help you attain your goal of improving your health through sound, evidence based nutrition intervention. For most, food is an emotional subject. Unless you have a clinical condition requiring specific restrictions, the words "you can never eat (fill in the blank) again" will not come out of my mouth. As a renal dietitian, I manage conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, anemia, gout, gastro-intestinal disorders, obesity, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol and tube feedings. I've been a board certified specialist in renal nutrition for the past 15 years. In this area, I usually counsel patients with 3 or more serious conditions. It's often a balancing act. I have a certificate of training in weight management and work with bariatric patients as well as regular weight loss.
I've counseled thousands of patients in fifty+ dialysis centers with 50+ doctors. I'm on the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Test Development Committee, writing the national certification examination for Renal Specialty. I'm the State Regulatory Specialist for Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics working on policies for Medicaid coverage for childhood obesity.
