For the past 30 years, I have helped thousands of clients with their diet-related challenges in this country and abroad. Working in hospitals and my own private practice, I use evidence-based practices in Diabetes Care, Gestational Diabetes, Post Acute Rehab, Skilled Nursing and Renal Care. My years of relevant experience allows me to create a custom nutrition program for your unique health goals. In addition to the science of nutrition, I am an expert on foods of different palates and ethnicities. I am a specialist in vegan, vegetarian and diets related to food intolerances.

I take a multi-pronged approach toward supporting a shift in your relationship with food. Behavior change approaches are inspired by my own experience of yogic practices that inform sustainable behavior change. I incorporate practical, concrete nutrition related goals into each session, inclusive of challenge food experiences, exploring hunger and fullness cues, and maximizing ability to complete your meal plan with appropriate variety. I also incorporate exploration of the relationships between feelings and eating disorder behaviors, and how even a small shift in response to such emotions can improve how you relate to food.

Welcome! My name is Natalie Butler, I am a registered dietitian and my passion is to help individuals normalize their relationship with food through supportive nutrition counseling. My passion as a dietitian is to lead parents with a child on the autism spectrum on the road to heal or "recover" their child through a functional nutrition approach. Many parents see recovery as a goal. I share this goal; however, this is not always seen, no matter the efforts put forth. Parents generally realize this. Bauman College, Certified Nutrition Educator, Diet Counselor and Certified Professional in Eating & Weight Disorders from UC Berkeley Ext- Dept of Behavioral Health Sciences. My approach is holistic health of the whole person. Educating diverse populations on best practices, preparing nutrient dense foods for optimal health,regardless of persons current state. As a UC Davis trained professional, I have worked with a wide variety of local gov't agencies, universities, school districts and medical groups. I work with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome patients that struggle with digestive issues, chronic pain, fatigue, and poor appetite. EDS patients often need help with determining how to manage food intolerances, frequent nausea, and fatigue which can negatively impact their ability to eat enough nutritious foods on a daily basis. I provide evidence-based and realistic guidance to help patients meet their unique health goals and feel better, more often.

I have over 20 years experience as a Registered Dietitian with a master's degree in Public Health Nutrition (MPH). I also have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology and am a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). I focus on the whole person and want to help you achieve a healthy lifestyle with an evaluation of current exercise and eating habits; assessment of labs, medications, and supplements; discussion of medical conditions; and goal setting for your particular concerns.
