Too often, I see people equating being healthy with punishing themselves. I believe your healthiest life comes not from punishment but from caring for yourself in order to live your fullest (and longest/most energetic) life possible. With a background in behavioral psychology, I encourage my clients to find ways to make changes to their diet and overall lifestyle that not only makes them healthier but also helps them to feel more alive. Physical and mental health should exist in tandem, not at odds with each other.
With master's degrees in health psychology and food and nutrition, and as a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I am able to help clients heal their relationship with food to make sustainable changes to improve their health and their life. I work within the framework of Health at Every Size.
I believe in emphasizing self-care and also have a strong emphasis on approaching diet and lifestyle changes from a holistic standpoint. Emotional trauma and even just normal everyday stress can manifest physically and harm the health. I take a restorative approach to health by looking at the whole person.
