I support clients who struggle with endometriosis, unexplained digestive issues, painful periods, and weight changes. I also work alongside clients who are starting a fertility journey, are already pregnant, or are post-partum and looking for nutrition support through this life stage. Through non-restrictive lifestyle changes, we can work together to find foods that are tolerated, nourish your body, reduce inflammation, and improve your relationship with food and body.

How many diets have you tried and quit? What if I told you that it wasn’t you failing the diet, but the diet failing YOU? Many of us grew up believing that thin equals healthy, and that sticking to rigid rules around eating and moving would lead to happiness and success. But in reality, sticking to food rules creates stronger and stronger cravings, feelings of powerlessness or guilt, and disconnection from the body’s signals of hunger, fullness, thirst, and more! Dieting can even lead to total loss of control, binge eating, and shame spirals. To heal a chaotic relationship with food, the first step is understand this cycle.

If you're feeling like you're losing a longstanding battle with your body, you're not alone. Or perhaps your constant attempts to control food ends up feeling like food is controlling you and your life. Again, you are not alone. You do not have to live a life that is limited by food rules, even if they're in the name of health. You do not have to live in constant worry about what others will think of your body. You do not have to waste the majority of your precious mental and emotional capacity ruminating on food and your body. Because: you were born for great things.

With the plethora of pervasive nutrition advice and a culture fixated on health and thinness it makes sense to be overwhelmed, frustrated, and hurt by the task of feeding and caring for ourselves. Messages about “good” versus “bad” foods (and bodies) pervade our psyche from the youngest of ages. We are made to believe that there is a path to the perfect body and diet, and that it is just around the corner if we only continue the exhausting pursuit. The diet culture we all live in steals happiness and makes us become distrustful of our bodies. I firmly believe there is another way, a more sustainable approach to food and health.

Emmilia’s passion for integrative medicine and whole foods nutrition has evolved throughout her life and career. Like many of her clients, she grew up learning from various outlets that wellness should look and behave a certain way. After learning the transformative impact of integrative functional nutrition through her education at Bastyr University, and witnessing the shame, confusion, and damage that can come from a narrow approach to health through her work with patients, it has become clear to her that one-size does not fit all.

In a world where we have unlimited access to overwhelming and confusing information about health, it can be challenging to know where to start. The foods we enjoy, our relationships with them, and how our bodies respond are so individualized that our approach has to be too!

Embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing with a passionate advocate for well-being for every body. As a Registered Dietitian and Intuitive Eating Counselor, I am here to guide you towards a transformative relationship with food, your body, and ultimately, yourself. My commitment to this path was born from a personal odyssey – a battle with disordered eating fueled by racism that ignited my passion for nutrition. The journey was challenging, but it equipped me with invaluable insights that empower my mission today.

As weight-neutral providers, we understand that food is social, emotional, and cultural. One way of eating doesn’t fit all, and knowing which foods optimally fuel your body is complex. Our goal is to empower you with nutritional education, support, and strategy so you can live the life you choose.

How can a Seattle Nutritionist help me?
Dietitians and Nutritionists in Seattle provide advice on good eating habits. They help you with your diet and how it affects your health. They assess nutrition needs and food patterns, plan a diet that's appropriate for your physical and dietary needs, and provide nutrition counseling, such as advice on dietary changes and menu plans. They advise on special diets for medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, food allergies, and obesity.

The word dietitian has a variant spelling 'dietician' (e.g. find a Seattle dietician). Both spellings are correct.

About Seattle Registered Dietitians
Registered Dietitians or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists in Seattle complete a bachelor's degree at a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as a period of supervised practice and an exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. While certification is not required in all states for nutritional counseling or nutrition therapy, only individuals certified by their respective states may use the Certified Dietitian or Certified Nutritionist titles.

How to use my insurance?
Some Nutritionists and Seattle dietary professionals accept health insurance. Check to see if your insurance is covered. Feel free to discuss this when you contact the Nutritionist or Dietitian.
