My passion is pregnancy, birth, pediatrics, and women's health. Helping families conceive who are having challenges is extremely rewarding. I also help guide those families planning for a baby who want to set a strong foundation for the health of their baby. The care I provide begins at preconception and goes through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and continues through all phases of life. I am a primary care provider in Washington state and a licensed midwife. I offer pediatric well-child visits, including vaccine counseling/administration and acute care and well-woman care, including annual gynecological and breast exams.

I am a Functional Medicine practitioner and I focus on getting to the underlying causes of illness for both adults and children. Causes are primarily nutritional deficiencies, genetic mutations like MTHFR, toxins in the body, chronic infections and food allergies. I use lab testing to pinpoint specific causes and then apply the most effective natural treatments. I consistently see dramatic results with fatigue, candida yeast, fibromyalgia, migraines, menstrual problems, menopause, adrenal exhaustion, toxicity, anxiety, depression, and much more. I practice primary care medicine and have additional training in women's health, physical and sports medicine, and pain management. Dr. John has been in practice for 25 years, having earned his doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in 1998. After working for two years with a Medical Doctor, he opened The Natural Health Medical Clinic in 2000 on Beacon Hill, just South of Downtown Seattle. He specializes in treating pain and injuries, as well as treating a wide range of health conditions such as diabetes, chronic fatigue, poor immune function and hypthyroidism. Areas of special study include hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) which stimulates stem cell production, ozone therapy, homeopathy, herbal medicine, neural therapy, prolozone, PRP.

I use a functional medicine, patient centered approach that incorporates each person's unique biochemical makeup, medical history, and personal health objectives, in order to empower the patient and treat the whole person rather than just the symptoms. My practice has two main focuses: 1). Helping people navigate their way out of chronic disease 2). Achieving or maintaining an optimal state of wellness. I have a special interest helping people with digestive problems, from undiagnosed digestive distress to Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Inflammatory Bowel disease. I also bring considerable experience in working with people with chronic fatigue, various autoimmune diseases, hormone imbalances, insomnia, anxiety and depression. I have enjoyed over 20 years of private practice in the Everett area. Trained at Bastyr University in the 1980's and focused on the traditional aspects of the Naturopathic profession. I still prefer to use herbs and nutrients in the original tincture and herba forms and also use all of the scientific encapsulations by the most respected companies. Although I focus on Thyroid disorders increasing in the region, I do see all ages and genders in a general family practice setting. Over the years I have developed good workiing relations with this areas specialists so no aspect of your health will be ignored.

I am certified in the BioTE Bioidentical hormone replacement technique. I am proud to be the first doctor in the immediate Seattle area to be certified in this amazing company.This complements my naturopathic approach allowing me to best address age management issues. Many patients are dealing with peri menopausal symptoms, or andropause as a man, and want to balance their hormones, optimizing, energy and sexual function.

I am a licensed naturopathic physician that practices integrative primary care. I have a growing practice of all ages. I enjoy working with people to unravel the symptoms they are experiencing. I've found that often the symptoms we are experiencing aren't always directly related to the area in the body with the dysfunction. Sometimes we have to treat several different parts of the body in order to treat our symptoms in other areas. The modalities I use not only work to treat the cause of the problem, but they also help the body to heal itself, which are two of the foundational principles of naturopathic medicine.
