Rise Communication Clinic is a Speech-Language Pathology clinic providing quality assessment and group treatment services to adults of Western Massachusetts. Research has shown that the communication breakdown associated with language impairments may interfere with social participation and with daily activities (work and leisure). Group treatment of communication disorders has proven effective with clients in conjunction with therapy, as they transition out of therapy, and as long as the patient/caregiver feels that aphasia, Parkinson’s, or TBI is a part of their life. At Rise, our clients feel seen and known.
Groups at Rise are functional and supportive. They promote practical communication, and provide opportunities for socialization, allowing participants to learn and grow with peers, creating a safety net of empathy and understanding and a welcoming place to thrive. They also allow for real-time/real-life use of techniques taught and practiced in therapy.
We are committed to being the best possible SLP clinic by: Fostering community and offering a supportive place to practice communication skills; Expanding communication and Quality of Life for those affected by language and communication disorders; Providing resources to those who have used up their rehab benefits or can’t attend other resource groups.
