This client is talkative, friendly, and eager to learn. They have diagnosed IBS and sought support to work through a low FODMAP plan with a dietitian. Symptoms are limiting daily activities and enjoyment of life, so relief would help them feel like themselves again. I enjoy gut health work because it’s a complex puzzle we solve together to create a new, lower-symptom baseline. They’re typically 20–40 years old and open to exploring a variety of tools.

I was trained at Zhejiang Traditional Medical College and Nanjing Traditional Chinese Medical University in China. After I received my Chinese medical degree in 1985 and MS degree in 1988, I worked as an Assistant Professor and Professor at the Medical College of Wenzhou, P.R. of China. After I received my Ph.D from Kanazawa Medical University, Japan, I engaged in both high quality medical research and clinical work in traditional Chinese medicine. Upon completion of my degree, I decided to continue my research in pulmonary biology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
