I'm passionate about helping others nourish their bodies, minds, and spirits in ways that are rewarding and without judgment. I provide weight-neutral nutrition support to help clients heal from eating disorders and chronic dieting, PCOS and women’s health.

I’m Carly - a RD-N specializing in eating disorders, disordered eating, mental health, & body image. My clients and I work 1:1 at the outpatient level to support their individual health concerns. Not all of my clients have diagnosed eating disorders - some of them have developed habits over the years that they'd like to change, need accountability for their health and wellness goals, or thanks in part to media representations about how we "should" look or "should" eat or "should" exercise, they just got confused along the way of how to relate to their own body. We fix that here.

I strive to help people feel better and live better. My care looks beyond symptoms and toward the root of the illness. I treat patients, not simply diseases. I offer safe, effective, and natural therapies for restoring health and optimizing wellness. I treat patients with a variety of conditions, anywhere from diabetes, depression, anxiety, fatigue, to chronic infections and autoimmune conditions; helping to minimize the use of prescription drugs and stimulate the healing capacity of the individual. I have passion for helping those with chronic and acute pain overcome their injuries with regenerative injection therapies.

You've been to doctor. Nothing shows up on the X-ray. You've been told nothing is wrong. That's good! It means there are no breaks or tears, that there is nothing organically wrong. But it still hurts! That means the pain is most likely soft tissue. It's something that can be released! You can reclaim your spunk. Problems of mobility and pain can usually be traced to some old injury, even from 20 or 30 or more years ago. Auto accidents, ski injuries, falls - they all take their toll on the body. My goal is to help benefit people through the use of Alternative Medicine to live a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I attempt to listen to my patients needs, get them as relaxed and comfortable as possible, and help guide them into healing. I am humbled by the humans capacity to heal.

At this point in my practice, most of my focus is spent on working with patients with chronic illnesses, like cancer. I also work with patients with digestive issues, men's health issues and other health conditions. I utilize an integrated approach, including behavior modification, counseling, botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, vitamin, mineral and enzyme optimization and intravenous (I.V.) therapy. Although I see many patients for fine tuning and health optimization, I also accept the challenge of working with people with very difficult medical issues, especially folks with issues that conventional medicine has very little to offer.

I have been in Chinese Medical Practice since 1986 after graduating from California Acupuncture College. I then enrolled in the Doctorate program at Samra Univ. of Oriental Medicine and received my credential in August 1988. I was licensed by the NCAA until 2007 and participated in their testing & licensing program. In 1996, I had the pleasure of being part of a group to study acupuncture in a hospital setting at the XiYuan Hospital of PRC and attend the 2nd International Symposium on Medical Qi Gong. The group was present for the opening ceremonies of the first government sponsored Medical Qi Gong Academy where we also underwent a rigorous course of training. In January 2006 I completed the Acupuncture Orthopedics course given by Lerner Education and received my credential to become a Diplomate of Acupuncture Orthopedics (NBAO).

Desiree Sterling received her Master's of Science from Pacific College of Oriental medicine (PCOM) in San Diego in 2005. She graduated from the Norwegian College of Acupuncture in 2002 and has also had formal training in Physical Therapy from Oslo, Norway. She has treated collegiate athletes at the RIMAC sports facility at UCSD in San Diego. Some of her training includes functional endocrinology, functional blood chemistry, and neuro-endocrine-immune problems. She provides treatments for endocrine and hormonal disorders related to infertility, chronic fatigue, digestive disorders, decreased immunity, hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, diabetes, thyroid and adrenal issues as well as cardiovascular conditions.
