Throughout my life, I have always struggled with aspects of my health. After more than a decade of work in the hospital setting I was burnt out and forced to learn to heal. My health suffered from poor nutrition (always eating easy on the go, high sugar etc), poor stress management, and poor sleep. Once I dove into healing the root causes of my symptoms, my skin cleared up, my periods weren't painful, my energy started to rebound making it easier to reach my goals. I see this every day in my clients, but it takes support and that's what I am here for.

As a Naturopathic physician I am trained to treat the whole person, recognizing the triad of mind, body and spirit. Healing occurs from the inside-out. That is, from the inside of the patient. My role is to be your ally using my specialized training in alternative diagnostics and therapeutics to give you the best informed information, so together we can make the best informed choices about therapies.

An essential principal of Naturopathic medicine is the "healing power of nature"(Vis Medicatrix Naturae). This concept forms the foundation of my belief and approach to medicine. While I treat a wide variety of chronic degenerative diseases, cancer is a passion and important focus of my practice. As such I was a professor of Oncology at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, where I instructed 4th year Naturopathic medical students. I also served on the board of directors for the "Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians" (OncANP). I was a past Vice President and chair of research for this specialty organization.

I found naturopathic medicine the hard way- after coming to a point in my own health where conventional physicians said they had "reached the end of the road" in treatment options. The irony was that this statement marked the beginning the road leading me to a career devoted to getting to the root cause of disease and utilizing compassionate medicine that treats the whole person. I was born & raised in Tucson and received my doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ with an emphasis in fertility and women’s health.

We are passionate about treating people who have been injured in auto collisions. Stats show that over 1/2 of these people will still be in pain 2 years later, even with treatment. We do our due diligence to make sure our patients receive every necessary testing and treatment, coordinating with other health professionals. We also enjoy helping those with upper neck and headache issues utilizing the Atlas Orthogonal technique. We are one of 200 or so doctors in the world trained in this technique, which is gentle and very effective. We have seen great success treating patients with migraine headaches with this method.

Jaime Zavala is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who practices out of Health Loft specializing in working with adults and adolescents with Eating Disorders, Digestive Issues (Crohn's/Celiac's), PCOS, Thyroid, Pre/Post Natal, and Weight Management. Jaime is dedicated to helping her clients rediscover the joys of food through personalized nutrition therapy paired with intuitive eating frameworks, and mindfulness practices. She takes time to build strong relationships with her clients in order to understand their unique health needs, promote autonomy in creating health-related goals, and champion positive behavior change.
