The work I do is based on Chinese medicine, one of the oldest holistic healing traditions, and can address many different kinds of issues. Health, according to Chinese medicine, occurs when the "qi", or "vital energy", is moving smoothly and harmoniously through its pathways in the body. When this happens we experience a wonderful sense of well-being and connection in our lives. This can be felt on the physical level, pain management is one benefit, and also on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels, as the qi affects all aspects of our being.
Shiatsu and Zero Balancing are the two profoundly effective modalities I use. A session lasts one hour, and is done while you lie, fully clothed, on a futon on the floor. Through gentle pressure and stretching, the qi is encouraged to flow more freely, releasing blockages and creating vibrant health.
My training includes over 30 years study and practice of bodywork, Chinese medicine, and yoga. I am a Diplomate in Asian Bodywork Therapy (NCCAOM),and a Senior Shiatsu Instructor at the Swedish Institute. Raising my daughter Emma has greatly contributed to the wisdom and empathy I bring to my work.
