About
I'm a licensed massage therapist practicing Structural Integration and somatic bodywork. Integrating heart and science into every session, I believe that bodywork, often pursued in relief of pain, can also improve our relationship with our bodies and deepen our experience in the world around us. I bring an awareness of the educational, experiential process of receiving bodywork, making lasting change through awareness and embodiment, in addition to very effective technique. Originally from New York, I trained at The Swedish Institute in New York City (a 1226-hour program) and at IPSB in San Diego.
My specialty is Structural Integration, a series of educational deep bodywork sessions (developed by Ida Rolf and also known as Rolfing) designed to bring the segments of the body into balanced relationship, providing more effortless support for movement and life.
I am also a practitioner of Somatic Experiencing®, a body-centered approach for healing the effects of trauma and restoring a healthy, functioning nervous system. Bodywork, and the process of becoming embodied, sometimes brings up "old stuff," and I can gently guide you through that experience, should it occur.
