I am a practitioner of traditional Japanese acupuncture and have studied extensively with master acupuncturist Koji Ichihashi of the Kurumadani School of Japan. Japanese acupuncture technique involves shallow insertion of very thin, delicate needles into points along the Meridians of the body. It is a relaxing spa-like treatment that is gentle and essentially pain free. This style incorporates medical Shiatsu massage while the needles are in the body. I give my patients self-care education, Qigong (energy movement), nutritional counseling and suggest Chinese herbal therapies and/or supplements in a nurturing environment.
Health and vitality are achieved through two of my specialties:
1. Traditional Japanese Acupuncture (Kurumadani Style)
2. Mei Zen style of Cosmetic Acupuncture
My professional background in modern and traditional Chinese dance has helped me in working with both professional modern and ballet dancers and their related injuries. Two of the local dance companies I have been working with are the San Francisco Ballet and Janice Garrett and Dancers.
