Nationally certified by NCCAOM and in Virginia, I bring over 25 years of experience in western and Chinese medicine. Having trained and practiced as a doctor at the prestigious Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I moved with my family to the U.S. and subsequently studied to be licensed as an R.N. I have worked at Fairfax INOVA Hospital for over 9 years. My mission is to augment the marvels of western medicine with the wisdom and skill of treating the whole body so that its systems and connections work optimally.

With more than 40 years experience, I would like to provide natural healing treatments to whoever needs help. For example, people who suffer chronic pains, need help for infertility, as well as those who seek for natural and safe treatments.

I have provided practical, holistic, integrative services in acupuncture, body therapy, life/wellness coaching, Chinese herbal medicine, and counseling since the 1980s. My background also includes stress management, medical Qigong, meditation, nutrition, and exercise. I bring breadth and depth to my practice, offering comprehensive and integrative approaches to whole being wellness, treating a broad range of conditions. I also teach skills that enhance the healing process and inner resources for successful life management.

Meirong Wang LAc graduated from China's Chengdu University of TCM in 1991 with a Bachelor in Medicine degree. She has more than 20 years of clinical practice in Acupuncture and Moxibustion as well as Chinese herbal medicine. She is now concurrently teaching acupuncture and supervising clinical work at South Baylo (Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) University VA Campus as well as practicing in NOVA Acupuncture & Moxibustion Clinic.

Acupuncture improves the body’s functions and promotes the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites--commonly referred to as acupuncture points, or acupoints. The most common method used to stimulate acupoints is the insertion of fine, sterile needles into the skin. Pressure, heat, or electrical stimulation may further enhance the effects. Other acupoint stimulation techniques include: manual massage, moxibustion or heat therapy, cupping, and the application of topical herbal medicines and linaments.

I provide caring and compassionate healthcare to my community as well as promote integrative medicine on a national level with the Integrative Health Policy Consortium.

We use an holistic approach to healing, combining the best of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, Chinese herbs, diet and qigong to help patients become and stay healthy. We practice preventive medicine and strongly believe in the old Chinese saying that "the best physician is not the one who treats patients when they become ill, but the one who keeps patients from getting sick in the first place." We use not only traditional methods to diagnose the root causes of a patient's problem, but also the lastest tools in computerized testing and analysis.

As an acupuncturist and herbalist, I completed four years of medical training and graduated with a Masters degree.
