"I was born into a family of eight generations of Chinese medical doctors. Since my childhood, carrying the family tradition and becoming an acupuncturist was my destination. I grew up around and learned a lot from my late grandfather, Professor Meishen Zhou, who was a very well known Chinese medical doctor and acupuncturist throughout China and Southeastern Asian countries. After I worked as a Medical Doctor in China for a few years, I have been enjoying teaching and practicing acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the United States since 1995."
"To be a good Doctor in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, you need to have good teachers who can teach the right way to understand the whole body and each organs relationship with the 5 Elements. My Chinese Medicine teacher is Ni Hai Xia who helped me understand the traditional Chinese Medicine practice to help people with various ailments including cancer treatment. My Acupuncture teacher, Liu Gong Wang from Tianjin School of Traditional Chinese Medicine taught me Acupuncture practice to help treat a variety of symptoms. My goal is to follow classic Chinese medicine teaching to benefit my patients."

"I am Jingyu Gu, PhD & Lic. Acu. By the governor's appointment, I'm serving on the Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners. My acupuncture practice started in 1972 in Shanghai. I founded the Taiji & Qigong Meditation Center and Wellspring Acupuncture & Holistic Health Clinic. My patients receive not only standard acupuncture and herbal treatments but also instruction on therapeutic taiji and qigong exercises. This harmonious and holistic treatment paradigm is the highest often hard-to-reach level of therapy in the TCM tradition. I taught these subjects in the Texas College of TCM (TX Health & Science Univ.) as well to acupuncturists for their CEU."

"I believe the patient-practitioner relationship is a key component to optimize healing. I take the time to listen; compassion and attentiveness are at the core of my treatments. I treat many patients who are brand new to acupuncture. I encourage patients to not allow the fear of needles to prevent them from getting acupuncture. I have a gentle and effective treatment approach. I also offer acupressure and cupping to patients who are not quite ready for needles. Each treatment is designed for the individual. I also believe treatments should be accessible and affordable enough to allow for ongoing treatments."
