I hold a Doctorate of Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College, Boulder Colorado . I am a Diplomat of Acupuncture, a Diplomat of Chinese Herbology, and a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (including Asian Bodywork Modalities, NCCAOM). My special interests include Internal Medicine, Women's Health, and patient education. I believe that treating each patient holistically involves extensive questioning, diverse treatment methods, and dedication from both patient and practitioner. Joyce K. Anastasi, PhD, DrNP, FAAN, LAc is a licensed acupuncturist, Diplomat of the NCCAOM and an Advanced Practice Nurse. She holds two doctorates, a PhD from Adelphi University and a DrNP from Columbia University. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. She has been on the faculty of Columbia University for over 16 years and former Helen F. Pettit Endowed Professor. She is currently the Independence Foundation Professor at New York University. She was appointed and served on the Advisory Board for the Institute of Medicine's (IOM) report on The Use of CAM by the American Public.

I graduated from Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1987. Since then, I spent over 30 years treating people with all sorts of health problems using acupuncture and/or herb medicine. Early in my practice to prevent surgery, I even self-treated an abdominal egg-sized tumor with severe abdominal pain and constipation.
