I came into the practice of Chinese Medicine as a patient twenty seven years ago. Receiving acupuncture for the first time was an experience of both welcome relief from pain mixed with a sense of deep relaxation. It is from that experience that I view each patient. With a background in education, I work on treatment plans that give individual focus to patient issues as well as use techniques that can accomplish a treatment goal quickly. Treatment styles include needles, laser, cupping, and non-insertive methods as required. Each patient gets gentle care and is provided with tools and techniques to help maintain good health.

I became interested in natural healing techniques a long time ago. Initially, I trained in Shiatsu and Massage Therapy, I graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1984. My post-graduate studies involved extensive training in Chinese Herbal Medicine.

I am a Licensed Acupuncturist with a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from the New England School of Acupuncture. Jeffrey S. Wernick, Lic. Ac., LICSW is a Licensed Acupuncturist with the Massachusetts Board of Medicine and Board Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine since 1984. He is a graduate of Queens College and the New England School of Acupuncture. He has been affiliated with the Shattuck hospital Pain and Stress Clinic, Massachusetts Osteopathic Hospital, Brockton Pain Management Group, and Kushi Institute.

Robert has expertise in both traditional acupuncture and Japanese non-insertive styles. Non-insertive styles are especially gentle methods that re-balance the body without breaking the skin. Appropriate for all patients, non-insertive techniques are particularly effective for children and older patients, those weakened by chronic conditions, and of course a wonderful option for patients uncomfortable with needles.

I am in my 25th year as a licensed Acupuncturist. I see many patients with pain and orthopedic related problems as well as chronic and debilitating illnesses such as cancer, MS, irritable bowel, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, arthritis, and mental health issues. I am also on staff at the MGH Cancer Center. While I do not treat cancer directly, I work to help with immune support and stress reduction, to support the whole person in body and mind as they go through cancer treatment. In addition to acupuncture, I work with my hands sometimes using Tuina chinese massage or Specialized Stretching (AIS).
