I am passionate about health & wellbeing and helping people feel their best. Prior to training as an acupuncturist I worked in the field of psychology with adults and adolescents with mental health and emotional issues for over 10 years. Observing how a person's emotional health affected their physical health and how a person's physical health affected their well-being I wanted to retrain in a modality that could address both issues. I began my Acupuncture training in England and studied there for three years, before moving to the US and training for a further three years.

My goal in the treatment room, is to assist in symptom management while empowering my clients to learn more about their bodies and what their symptoms mean. I have had great success treating people on a physical level (pain management, digestive issues, acute illness or injury...etc) as well as the psycho-emotional level (anxiety, depression, "stress"...etc).

I have been practicing medicine since 1986. I practiced and taught medicine in Hunan, China after training in Western and Traditional Chinese medicine for 8 years. I also worked in Chinese Medicine practices in Edmonton and Montreal, Canada and in Maryland. In 1997, I established my current practice. I approach patients' conditions with a comprehensive understanding of both Western and Chinese Medicine, which enables me to provide the most suitable treatment and recommendations, whether the ailment is a 5-week-old girl's colic, a 9-month-old boy's prolonged cough or a 40-year-old woman's recurrent bladder infections.

I have over 30 years of clinic experience in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and graduated with a master's degree in 1987. I am a member of the third generation of a family of specialists in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TC M ). I have deep expertise for treating common and complicated diseases. We provide personalized acupuncture treatment to help patients to relieve pain and enjoy life. She worked in private practice in Laurel for 14 years and currently has an office in Gaithersburg, Maryland and Germantown, Maryland. Beth is a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. Beth is also a member of the Maryland Acupuncture Society and a member of the National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Alliance. Additionally, she is a Certified Animal Acupuncturist and enjoys treating people and pets.

After five years study and training in Chinese and western medicine, she received her Doctor of Medicine degree. She then practiced at the University Hospital as a physician of TCM (acupuncture, herb medicine etc.) for 10 years. She specializes in the treatment of pain, women’s health, immune disorder, stress, depression, insomnia and paralysis. She studied ShuangJinHua (herbs) on immune functions, that earned the First Place of TCM Science Advanced Technology Award in Heilongjiang Provence, China in 1996.

I have been extensively trained at undergraduate and graduate levels in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and modern science. I have been active in many TCM research projects; among them are the acupuncture on osteoarthritis, and infertility. I have held various faculty/researcher positions at many academic institutes including, Shanghai University of TCM, Maryland Institute of TCM, Johns Hopkins Medical School, and currently, the University of Maryland School of Medicine. I am a contributing author to two books on TCM. In addition, I have also authored many papers published on peer-reviewed professional journals.
