As a 3rd Generation Acupuncturist, I have learned to appreciate both traditional medicine and Western medicine which can enhance the treatment effect in patients. I specialize in pain control, sport medicine, spinal rehabilitation and balancing treatments.

My medical career began at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). My studies included training in both Western and Traditional Chinese medicine. After completed my Acupuncture Master degree study in the post-graduate school of the University, I was assigned to an research position in Shanghai Research Institute of Acupuncture & Meridian. I worked there for 3 years in the field of study of Chinese Acupuncture Schools & Doctrine and attended Outpatient Clinic Center to treat patients at the same time.

I am committed to providing the best care to each and every patient as possible. My 20 years of experience in the practice and art of Acupuncture has taught me the importance of compassion and individualized attention in an effective acupuncture treatment. My experiences in Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong and Yoga have informed me of the profound power of energy (Qi, or Prana) in health and wellness. I have studied in Japan to deepen my understanding of the tradition that goes back thousands of years.

I have been extensively trained at undergraduate and graduate levels in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and modern science. I have been active in many TCM research projects; among them are the acupuncture on osteoarthritis, and infertility. I have held various faculty/researcher positions at many academic institutes including, Shanghai University of TCM, Maryland Institute of TCM, Johns Hopkins Medical School, and currently, the University of Maryland School of Medicine. I am a contributing author to two books on TCM. In addition, I have also authored many papers published on peer-reviewed professional journals.
