Originating in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture and that base on Traditional Chinese Medicine theory is currently one of the most thoroughly researched, practiced, and respected forms of complementary medicine available anywhere. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs are ancient healing arts that involves on the Qi flow or energy flow and restore balance. Michelle was a licensed Occupational therapist(OT) in Taiwan, where she provided occupational therapy services for a 50-bed, specialized chronic-care hospital, Taipei Guandu Hospital, assessed patients' rehabilitative needs, jointly developed patient care plans and treatment goals, and conducted occupational-prescribed OT programs for medically complex patients including those who have had strokes, spinal cord injuries, hand injuries (fracture, soft tissue such as Tennis Elbows, to nerve neuropathies such as Cubital Tunnel Syndrome/ Carpal Tunnel Syndrome).

I came into the practice of Chinese Medicine as a patient twenty seven years ago. Receiving acupuncture for the first time was an experience of both welcome relief from pain mixed with a sense of deep relaxation. It is from that experience that I view each patient. With a background in education, I work on treatment plans that give individual focus to patient issues as well as use techniques that can accomplish a treatment goal quickly. Treatment styles include needles, laser, cupping, and non-insertive methods as required. Each patient gets gentle care and is provided with tools and techniques to help maintain good health.

I became interested in natural healing techniques a long time ago. Considering the potential side effects of medicines commonly prescribed, I thought it worthwhile to study alternative methods of healing. Initially, I trained in Shiatsu and Massage Therapy, I graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1984. My post-graduate studies involved extensive training in Chinese Herbal Medicine.

I specialize in fertility / infertility acupuncture, pain management acupuncture and stress disorders, but my practice is multi-fold and I work with far more than just that. I work with my patients from a holistic perspective, in which we look at diet, lifestyle and all else that can influence health. While I use acupuncture (and other Chinese healing modalities when necessary), I like to see that the patient is able to find freedom from symptoms and retain positive health on their own through their newly found knowledge about their health.

My ideal patient is one who is willing to be a co creator in their health process. I specialize in digestive disorders, immune issues, pain, hormonal issues and fatigue. I treat all ages. I use acupuncture, Chinese herbs, Ayurvedic dietary and lifestyle recommendations and muscle response testing to identify core imbalances as well as herbal and nutritional recommendations. Your willingness to make lifestyle and dietary changes that help improve health and your symptoms is a big plus.

My ideal acupuncture client is someone who approaches their sessions with an open mind, values holistic health, and actively engages in their wellness journey, seeking relief from physical discomfort or emotional imbalance.
