I am passionate about working with clients who have made the decision to take charge of their health and wellbeing. My practice is geared toward whole health, treating the entire person - body, mind, and spirit. I have a strong belief that all three are crucial to regaining wellness. I emphasize patient education and find it to be very rewarding when the little changes I suggest end up making a big difference in a client's life.

To me, healing is so much more than an academic approach telling me where to put the needles when treating a patient. My goal is to listen with my ears, mind, heart, and intuition to discover what your body and spirit need. I incorporate energy healing into my treatments to address the spiritual imbalances that contribute to physical symptoms. I make every effort to feed and deepen my own spiritual practice so that I might serve you better. I am honored to support you in your journey to wellness!

Chinese Medicine is powerful. It changes lives. I prefer not to "specialize" in any one type of disease because it's limiting. I want to work with anyone who is ready to begin the journey of healing to restore health.

Strength of acupuncture stimulation should be considered carefully for each patient. Regardless of pain nature, acupuncture is an excellent modality for pain relief and management. I have practiced acupuncture over 26 years and taught the students at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago for 5 years. I have been the health advisor for various live radio health programs for Seoul Radio Broadcasting and KBI Radio Station in Chicago for 9 years.
Acupuncture in Illinois - is it right for me?
Acupuncture is based on the concepts of oriental medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. Illinois acupuncturists are health care professionals who evaluate and treat the many conditions, aches and pains that respond to acupuncture.
Acupuncturists insert very fine acupuncture needles into the body. The purpose of the needles is to stimulate acupuncture points or meridians. The needles do not inject any substance into your body and are so fine as to be virtually impossible to feel. In some cases, acupuncture may be accompanied by electrical stimulation or the burning of moxa, a form of heat therapy. Or use acupressure, where physical pressure is applied by hand or elbow to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.
'Accupuncture' and 'Accupuncturist' are common mis-spellings.

Credentials for Illinois licensed acupuncturists?
A licensed acupuncturist in Illinois needs a minimum of two years college education and must complete three years of professional training and pass the State's approved licensing examination. The three year program includes both theory and hands-on clinical practice. Most States' professional training programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
