I obtained PhD in Biochemistry from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. I worked as a molecular biologist in Argonne National Laboratory, Illinois, and am working at the NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California. I have conducted studies on microorganisms in extreme habitats and biofuel production from algae.
