Traditional acupuncture involves inserting tiny, sterile filiform acupuncture needles into particular points and letting them sit for a period of time in order to influence physiological functioning of the body which expedites healing. The purpose of these needles is to stimulate the brain (CNS) to accelerate the cellular cascade of the healing process.
