I came to nutritional & lifestyle medicine after 15 years as part of an historic team of doctors and nurses at St. Vincent's Hospital in Greenwich Village, New York. Over the years I came to appreciate the need for a different, better way to diagnose and treat most of the chronic health conditions of our day; an approach that appreciates the delicate and sophisticated interplay of the body's physiological systems; an approach that is informed by "outside-the box" thinking in order to find clues often missed by the mills and mill workers that make up today's health care system. "Physiology over pharmacology!"
To that end, I offer a holistic health approach employing, as desired, meridian balancing, herbal medicine, nutritional testing, genetic testing, gut health testing, hormone testing, neurotransmitter testing, & heavy metals testing, with an emphasis on conditions unsatisfactorily addressed by modern allopathic medicine.
My approach to living and world view are informed by my coming of age in NYC's East Village of the 1990s as writer, researcher, healthcare activist, patient educator, gourmand, yogi, and lover of all things foreign.
