"Katya's gentle treatments are profound and transformative. She has been in practice for over 20 years and draws on range of gentle Japanese techniques besides needles including cupping, essential oils, moxa and herbs. In addition to acupuncture Katya uses Bemer therapy to increase microcirculation which has powerful effects on the qi and on peoples health in general . She also integrates Biofield tuning, a profound method using tuning forks, to release and integrate longstanding psychoemotional issues that often have effects on physical health. This method is surprisingly simple and yet deeply transformational."

"Unlike Western medicine, Acupuncture treats the problem at the root, rather than just alleviating the symptoms. By focusing on the cause of the pain, Acupuncture can help your body experience deeper and more long-term relief from your discomfort. People experience discomfort in many ways. For some it is emotional, others feel physical symptoms. I treat you in the method and style that is best suited to your needs rather than the symptoms you present."

Let's find out what is existing and what brings you in. Let's work through how you would like things to change. Then, we'll derive a treatment plan, assessments, and health goals to get there. One of the tools I include in this assessment is the AcuGraph. This graph is provided at intervals and shows both you and I how the plan is improving the balancing of your systems. This balance and movement allows the body to do its job in healing. "

Acupuncture in Portland - is it right for me?
Acupuncture is based on the concepts of oriental medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. Portland acupuncturists are health care professionals who evaluate and treat the many conditions, aches and pains that respond to acupuncture.

Acupuncturists insert very fine acupuncture needles into the body. The purpose of the needles is to stimulate acupuncture points or meridians. The needles do not inject any substance into your body and are so fine as to be virtually impossible to feel. In some cases, acupuncture may be accompanied by electrical stimulation or the burning of moxa, a form of heat therapy. Or use acupressure, where physical pressure is applied by hand or elbow to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.

'Accupuncture' and 'Accupuncturist' are common mis-spellings.
Credentials for Portland licensed acupuncturists?
A licensed acupuncturist in Portland needs a minimum of two years college education and must complete three years of professional training and pass the State's approved licensing examination. The three year program includes both theory and hands-on clinical practice. Most States' professional training programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
