Hello, My name is Yoonyoung and I am a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture is based on the idea that a patient’s pain or illness is caused by interruption to the flow of Qi (one’s life energy) in the body. Acupuncture identifies the specific points on the body that corresponds to the condition (acupuncture points) and uses special needles to stimulate those points so that the patient can regain the healthy flow of Qi. As a Chinese medicine practitioner, I view any illness in the context of the whole person. My treatment goes beyond the obvious symptom to the root cause of the illness.

I graduated from Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1987. Since then, I spent over 30 years treating people with all sorts of health problems using acupuncture and/or herb medicine. Early in my practice to prevent surgery, I even self-treated an abdominal egg-sized tumor with severe abdominal pain and constipation. The experience further enhanced my desire and confidence in sharing the power and healing potential of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture with all patients in need of healing and improving health.

Over 21 years of clinical experience providing various styles of acupuncture, including Esoteric acupuncture, Balance Method Acupuncture, German Auricular Acupuncture, AcuNova Acupuncture, Yamomoto Scalp Acupuncture and other styles as well as Chinese herbs, aromatherapy for acute and chronic conditions. Yuanyuan Cheng, M.S. L.Ac. is national board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She holds a Master's degree of Acupuncture in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Before coming to United States, she graduated from medical school in Hunan, China. She passed the CMD to earn the International Practitioners Qualification Certificate. She is also a board member of United Alliance of NY State Licensed Acupuncturists.
