Are you looking to try Acupuncture? Acupuncture is a safe, natural and effective way to achieve and maintain balance, health and wellness. It has remained the essence of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over 3,000 years. Acupuncture balances the body and mind and stimulates its natural self-healing abilities by treating the root of the problem. When imbalances or blockages occur, symptoms such as pain, fatigue, emotional issues and disease etc. will manifest. Significant modern research documents the many beneficial influences Acupuncture has on the energetic, immune, hormonal, circulatory and neurological systems of the body without any of the side effects of Western drugs

I practice acupuncture according to the person's constitution. In other words, two people may come with similar problems but I treat them differently because their underlying cause may be different. My acupuncture style not only treats the chief complaint, but also is excellent in regulating all the minor problems that the patients suffer from. My special areas are pain management; from headaches to heel spur, anxiety& depression, and feminine disorders. I also use herbal medicine to enhance the treatment. Herbal treatment does not give the side effects like western medicine does, and it is very powerful.

I practice Chinese Acupuncture and Herbology not only to treat a variety of physical symptoms but also as a preventative to many common conditions and ailments. I bring to my practice extensive knowledge of the body gained from my training as a physician and Ob/Gyn in China, and through my 18 years as an practicing acupuncturist. At our clinic we work holistically in both our diagnosis (TCM) and treatment. We believe that pain and disease both manifest from imbalances in Qi, which is the fundamental energy flowing through us. An imbalance in Qi can cause many problems throughout the body.

Acupuncture is most commonly used forms of medicine in the world and is currently one of the most thoroughly researched, practiced, and respected forms of complementary medicine available. According to East Asian Medicine, your overall health is determined by the quality of the Qi (energy) flow through the natural pathways of your body (meridians). As a licensed Acupuncturist, I use a variety of techniques, including placing very thin sterile needles into specific points on the body, to stimulate and improve your Qi flow. The many benefits of acupuncture are too long to list. Call now to inquire.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbs, by strengthening deficiencies and reducing excess in the meridians, can establish balance and health. We treat existing diseases. Perhaps more importantly, we can maintain health and well-being, and keep your mind, body, and spirit in balance by monitoring and adjusting imbalances before they manifest as disease. Sundance TCM employs a variety of gentle, non-invasive, results-oriented techniques to establish and maintain optimal health. Each treatment begins with a personalized assessment of your overall health, a customized differential diagnosis, and a personalized treatment plan that employs any one or a combination of our services.

While working with patients, I combine the perspective of Chinese medicine that sees each person as unique, with my own experience treating and studying the human body for more than twenty years. Initially, I explored anatomy and physiology empirically through dance, Continuum movement, and shiatsu. Each of these modalities helped to refine my sensitivity to the energetics of the body, while the academic approach of acupuncture school provided a strong foundation in integrative medicine. These experiences have enabled me to combine a hands on approach to healing with Chinese and Western medicine resources (i.e. research, traditional literature, continuing education).

Acupuncture in Livingston County - is it right for me?
Acupuncture is based on the concepts of oriental medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. Livingston County acupuncturists are health care professionals who evaluate and treat the many conditions, aches and pains that respond to acupuncture.

Acupuncturists insert very fine acupuncture needles into the body. The purpose of the needles is to stimulate acupuncture points or meridians. The needles do not inject any substance into your body and are so fine as to be virtually impossible to feel. In some cases, acupuncture may be accompanied by electrical stimulation or the burning of moxa, a form of heat therapy. Or use acupressure, where physical pressure is applied by hand or elbow to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.

'Accupuncture' and 'Accupuncturist' are common mis-spellings.
Credentials for Livingston County licensed acupuncturists?
A licensed acupuncturist in Livingston County needs a minimum of two years college education and must complete three years of professional training and pass the State's approved licensing examination. The three year program includes both theory and hands-on clinical practice. Most States' professional training programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
