Deb Engelgau
Acupuncturist, LAc, CSMA
I specialize in the treatment of acute and chronic pain (particularly back, neck and shoulder) by using a combination of Eastern and Western diagnoses and treatment techniques. Pain is often the result of, or can lead to, stress, anxiety, or depression; therefore, I often address stress in my treatments and offer training in techniques to reduce stress in your life.
I also have a special interest in infertility and digestive issues. My experience in infertility issues includes IVF, ART, and natural conception.
I recently completed a post graduate specialization in Sports Medicine Acupuncture at the New England School of Acupuncture (Newton, MA). This certification focuses on Orthopedic Acupuncture specifically for musculoskeletal pain, trauma and sports injuries. I am the only acupuncturist in Ohio with this certification.
I am trained to assess injuries using a combination of orthopedic tests, range of motion assessment, manual muscle testing and palpation to correctly identify the injury or areas of pain and then treat with acupuncture and fascial release techniques.
