I am passionate about health & wellbeing and helping people feel their best. Prior to training as an acupuncturist I worked in the field of psychology with adults and adolescents with mental health and emotional issues for over 10 years. Observing how a person's emotional health affected their physical health and how a person's physical health affected their well-being I wanted to retrain in a modality that could address both issues. I began my Acupuncture training in England and studied there for three years, before moving to the US and training for a further three years.

We treat adults and children individually and as a family. We focus on empowering you with the tools for wellness. Our practitioners help you with alleviating stress, pain, fatigue, digestive imbalances, sleep difficulties and conditions which affect our well-being.

The focus of Rachel’s practice is to see each person as a whole and work together to find their way to good health. We look at each person’s history and carefully design a plan that is unique to their needs. Whether a person has numerous physical issues and a great deal of pain, or they are relatively healthy and wish to handle stress and live in better balance with their world, she is here to help.

Dr. Guang Xu, L.Ac,, OMD, Ph.D., graduated from Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China in 1984. After five years study and training in Chinese and western medicine, she received her Doctor of Medicine degree. She then practiced at the University Hospital as a physician of TCM (acupuncture, herb medicine etc.) for 10 years. She specializes in the treatment of pain, women’s health, immune disorder, stress, depression, insomnia and paralysis. She studied ShuangJinHua (herbs) on immune functions, that earned the First Place of TCM Science Advanced Technology Award in Heilongjiang Provence, China in 1996.

She is also certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) in Clean Needle Technique and she is state-licensed as a Licensed Acupuncturist in VA and MD. She has more than 15 years of clinical practice in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in China and the U.S.

Wei Zhao is a Chinese Physician having practiced Acupuncture, herb and Internal Medicine in Shanghai since 1988. She offers free initial consultation to people who have no health insurance. Wei Zhao graduated from Medical School in Shanghai and is a Board Certified Diplomate in Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is also certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Clean Needle Technique. Wei Zhao teaches continuing education classes for Acupuncturists to renew their license. Her strong medical knowledge, experience, integrity and caring personality makes her practice safe and efficient.

In 2004, Beth Grubb Li received her Masters of Acupuncture degree at The Maryland University of Integrated Health in Maryland. She worked in private practice in Laurel for 14 years and currently has an office in Gaithersburg, Maryland and Germantown, Maryland. Beth is a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. Beth is also a member of the Maryland Acupuncture Society and a member of the National Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Alliance. Additionally, she is a Certified Animal Acupuncturist and enjoys treating people and pets.

Shahrzad Taavoni, L.Ac, Dipl OM, M.A.T.C.M, B.S. trained and excelled in the one of the most rigorous Acupuncture programs in the country. She received her Masters degree in California which has the highest standards for education and examination in the country. She completed her 4 years Masters degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Los Angeles, California in 2006. She is a Diplomat in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She has received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from UMCP.

My goal in the treatment room, is to assist in symptom management while empowering my clients to learn more about their bodies and what their symptoms mean. Dr. Holly Liu is the creator of Chinese-MD in Rockville Town Center. This is a new group of Chinese doctors and specialists who provide a wide array of alternative medical services. Dr. Liu is a highly regarded doctor of medicine from China. At age 16 she obtained a Primary Physician Diploma in Western Medicine. At 21, she had obtained her medical degree in Western Medicine and completed a 3 year residency at a major Chinese General Hospital. Later she obtained her Traditional Chinese Medical degree.

I have over 30 years of clinic experience in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and graduated with a master's degree in 1987. I am a member of the third generation of a family of specialists in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TC M ). I have deep expertise for treating common and complicated diseases. I have over 23 years experience as a registered nurse and 14 years as acupuncturist. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware in 1988, and a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from MUIH, formerly known as Tai Sophia Institute, in 2007. I have practiced nursing at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bermuda, and at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Additionally, I was a research nurse with Johns Hopkins University, studying heart failure and cardiomyopathy. After completing a clinical internship at Tai Sophia Institute, I opened my private practice in 2007.

Dr. Zhaobo Li received his medical training in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Sports Medicine in China. He completed a 5-year fellowship in neuromuscular diseases at The School of Medicine of the Johns Hopkins University in the United Sates. He has practiced acupuncture and sport medicine for 25 years and published 39 research papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Dr. Li's approach to integrative health draws from TCM, but is grounded in modern medicine. With over a decade of practice in acupuncture and neuromuscular diseases, he has developed unique methods to treat various symptoms of chronic diseases.
