At Matthew Berg Acupuncture in Great Barrington, we offer premier Oriental Medicine which consists of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Therapy, Moxibustion, Cupping, Gua Sha, and Asian Bodywork modalities. I studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China and received my MD in 1993. I am a licensed Associate Chief Physician of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. During my 17 years of practice at the First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is also the National Acupuncture Clinical Research Center of China. I participated in numerous research projects for treating stroke, paralysis, acute and chronic pain, dementia, prostatitis and insomnia with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

I graduated as a medical doctor from Harbin Medical University of China with extensive training in Clinical Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that specialized in Acupuncture and Gynecology. I have more than 30 years of hands-on experience in treating male and female patients for a number of issues (including those listed below). My treatments, that combine acupuncture with TCM, help to relieve patients' symptoms and restore their health and energy. With the combination of my expertise and knowledge in Acupuncture and Gynecology, I have also successfully treated patients with gynecological/genito-urinary disorders such as hormonal imbalances, infertility, and menopause.

I am moved by each person's path to open to their own healing. It is a great privilege to act as facilitator, co-explorer, witness and partner in this endeavor. Using various schools and methods of acupuncture and its related practices (diagnosis via the senses, touch, moxibustion, cupping, guasha, plum blossom, essential oils, crystals, magnets) we arrive at an understanding of the body-mind pattern and its treatment. I often prescribe Chinese herbs to address acute and chronic patterns. Modalities are selected based on your sensitivities and needs, as well as the levels we choose to address in treatment.
