"After working the past 20 years as an Occupational Therapist in a variety of healthcare settings, I became interested in approaching healing from a different perspective to help people become empowered about their health on all levels. I found acupuncture to resonate with my belief that medicine should be judged in terms of how effective it is in understanding and treating the problem as the patient experiences it. Safely, painlessly, acupuncture is able to address a wide variety of medical conditions. Both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine have their respective strengths, and when appropriately combined, the patient is well served."

Adolescents / Teenagers (14 to 19) Acupuncturists
For help with adolescents these Acupuncturists provide adolescent Acupuncture. They'll also help with Acupuncture for teens in 11596, teenagers, and 11596 teenager issues.

Acupuncture in 11596 - is it right for me?
Acupuncture is based on the concepts of oriental medicine or traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is one of the oldest healing practices in the world. 11596 acupuncturists are health care professionals who evaluate and treat the many conditions, aches and pains that respond to acupuncture.

Acupuncturists insert very fine acupuncture needles into the body. The purpose of the needles is to stimulate acupuncture points or meridians. The needles do not inject any substance into your body and are so fine as to be virtually impossible to feel. In some cases, acupuncture may be accompanied by electrical stimulation or the burning of moxa, a form of heat therapy. Or use acupressure, where physical pressure is applied by hand or elbow to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians.

'Accupuncture' and 'Accupuncturist' are common mis-spellings.
